philosophy is to keep things simple for you. You don't have to read between the lines to find out what's included and what's not! No hidden costs, no surprises.

overland trips are straight forward providing two crew, expedition vehicle, tents, mattresses and kitchen gear, 2 meals per day (excl. Diani beach) and camping accommodation.

You choose all the optional activities you want to do and pay as you go.

travel system are camping trips. Although we stay at established campsites; electricity, hot showers and cold beers etc can be erratic due to the very nature of the tour and continent.

All food is prepared by the group on a rota basis (except East-Africa overland safaris***). The food shopping is done by the group in local markets. Breakfast and dinner are provided. Lunches are not included since it is simply not practical unless you want to live on tuna sandwiches for up to 20 weeks. It is easy to buy good cheap lunches along the way. Vegetarians and medical dietary requirements (i.e. allergies) are catered for.

*** On our East African safaris a cook is provided. However, everyone is expected to pitch-in and help out with daily activities (i.e. cooking, truck cleaning, security etc).

The trip price is split into 2 parts:

(1) Land price: includes transport, equipment and crew while on the expedition. This is payable 8 weeks prior to departure.

(2) Local Payment price: is paid directly to the expedition leader at the start of the trip in US$ cash (dated 2003 and above). This pays for camping accommodation, food prepared by the group and other trip related costs.
