In Africa old age is not necessarily indexed to money or wealth. As long as you are morally upright, in good health and have some wisdom and humour...

It is e feasible soft-adventure tour... All You will need is to be able to climb the ladder steps to get on & off the overland truck in addition of all the usual attributes to enjoy travel with an open mind where You must relish the idea of foreign places and unusual situations. Africa Overland is more about attitude than actual age. On top of that you need to be gregarious, and tolerant of other people (and their habits).
Sustenance: The group food preparation and camp duty is generally done for you, however; You will be required to put up & down your own tent, help out the cook with cooking & cleaning duties and do security. Meals and menus vary a great deal as an excellent cuisine for Africa overlanders. The truck is stocked with canned and basic staples goods before departure. Further provisions including fruit and vegetables, bread, meat and fish are purchased en route from provincial markets and shops. Dependent upon geographical location, meals and menus will vary to some extent, however the quality of food is usually very good, with an accent on tasty and healthy dishes. The BBQ grill is used for informal braais or barbecues, though we also use gas for convenience and also to lessen the environmental impact. Where possible, we endeavor to eat a variety of local foods and gain introduction to dishes famed in the region we happen to be.

Life on the Road
So you're not sure what to expect? Well there is no such thing as an average day when you're travelling through Africa, but we can give you an idea of what to expect from your tour.
When the sun gets up so do we, and having packed up the camp, repacked and stored away our bags, and had a hearty breakfast, we'll be on our way. Some days may only be a short cruise down the road and others may be a longer drive but your time on the vehicle lets you put your feet up and catch up on your diary, leaf through the books in the onboard library, play cards or just watch the world go by. Some days we may stop at local markets to restock on fresh fruit and veggies, and others, when we've got a bit further to go, we may just motor on. But we're always happy to stop for a photo if you spot something or for other more urgent calls of nature! If we're not already at camp we'll find a nice spot for a picnic style lunch and with everyones help set up our own place for some al fresco dining. Then it'll be back on the road to our next nights stop where with the help of the crew
and your room-mates... your tents will be up.
You'll have plenty of time for showers (when we have sufficient water) and to get any essentials from your bags before dinner and then the nights your own to enjoy.
Of course, our tours don't spend every day on the road and there will be days when you won't have any driving time, camps to set up and meals to help prepare. Each day is different.
