TOUR TERMS & BOOKING CONDITIONS
Northwest Africa Overland Travel
1. A deposit of 10% of the value of the tour you have selected must be paid at the time of booking. This will be accepted as part payment of the full cost of the tour and is non-refundable. The remainder must be paid no later than eight (4) weeks before departure. Non-payment of the balance will be treated as a cancellation of the booking and the deposit will be forfeited. Bookings made less than eight (4) weeks before departure require full payment.
2. If a cancellation occurs by the client more than eight (4) weeks before departure, the deposit will be forfeited however the balance will be refunded to the client.
3. If the client cancels less than 4 weeks prior to departure all monies will be retained by AFTours. We advise insuring yourself against irrecoverable cancellation costs.
4. A booking is only deemed a contract once the client has:
(a) agreed to the terms and conditions and signed;
(b) completed a booking form and AFTours has issued confirmation of the booking;
(c) AFTours have received a 10% deposit
5. AFTours reserves the right to decline any booking in the event that AFTours considers the client unsuitable for the tour booked.
6. Once the tour has commenced, no refunds will be made under any circumstances for any unused sectors or sections of the tour.
7. If AFTours has to cancel a trip for any reason prior to the date of departure, AFTours will refund all monies paid towards the tour fare and this will be the extent of AFTours liability.
8. AFTours reserves the right to remove any client from a tour if the tour leader believes that the client is not abiding by the terms and conditions of the contract or affecting the safety of themselves (the client) or other members of the tour and crew members of AFTours. Under these circumstances, there will be no refund of monies paid and the client will be responsible for their own maintenance and expenses and have no claim against the organizers.
9. In the event of a major breakdown, accident, sickness, natural disaster etc. AFTours reserves the right to use alternative transport and/or vary the itinerary. If under the circumstances mentioned above, the tour cannot continue, AFTours will ensure all clients are delivered to a safe international airport by transport of AFTours choice. AFTours however will not refund any unused section of the trip.
10. The client accepts by undertaking tours with AFTours that this kind of travel is subject to risks not familiar to them in western countries. AFTours cannot therefore be held responsible for acts of terrorism, epidemics, armed robbery, road conditions or closures, natural disasters and any problem out of our control found in the route. By booking you accept that this is the nature of this type of travel and agree to purchase suitable travel insurance with benefits that cover personal accident, medical expenses, repatriation, loss and damage to personal effects. The policy must include a minimum cover of € 20'000.- for medical and repatriation expenses.
11. The client acknowledges that the tour vehicle does not have the benefit of passenger insurance and agrees to indemnify AFTours against any claim or demand made against them by the client, his personal representatives or dependant's in respect of any accident, disease, personal injury or loss of life caused to or contracted or suffered by the client during the course of the tour whether caused by the negligence of any party thereon or not.
12. Owing to the potentially hazardous nature of the tour AFTours shall not be liable for any damage suffered by or caused to the personal property of the client during the course of the tour whether by negligence on the part of AFTours or its authorized representatives or not.
13. Complaints must be made directly to the tour leader so that action can be taken immediately. Any formal complaint must be made in writing no later than 14 days from the final day of the tour. We will do our best to resolve any complaints and agree on a settlement as quickly as possible.
14. AFTours accepts no responsibility for the actions or provision of services by hoteliers, tour operators, local transport providers or anyone else whilst on a AFTours Tour.
15. The client must obtain a valid passport with enough clear pages for the entire tour. AFTours will do its best to assist the client to obtain all the relevant visas and comply with all the necessary requirements at borders throughout the tour however, we cannot guarantee availability and acceptance of Visa Applications.
16. The client undertakes to comply with the laws and regulations of the countries visited. Failure to do so could mean removal from the tour with no refund of tour fare.
17. AFTours reserves the right to cancel the tour if there are less than Twelve (12) bookings and refund all monies paid for tour fare to the client. AFTours will notify all clients 4 weeks before the tour departure date.
18. AFTours offers advice only in good faith but with no responsibility on such matters as personal spending money, personal clothes and any other general information on all of our promotional material.
19. All bookings will require a 10% deposit. Payments can only be made via Money Transfer/ Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) into our account. 20. I declare that I have read, understand and agree to the conditions of booking. I have read, understand and accept all information on the AFTours website, particularly in the acceptance of risk, security & Foreign Office advice, type of travel, likely conditions, and what is not included in the trip price. I agree to pay the balance not later than 4 weeks before the departure date.-
