Itinerary
Day 1 Wednesday Cape Town to Montagu
Depart Cape Town and travel through the Cape Winelands to the heart of South Africa's wine industry, Stellenbosch. After a wine tasting and museum visit continue to the historic town of Worcester and then along Route 62 (known as the world's longest wine route). Travel through the wine producing areas of Robertson and Ahton, arriving in Montagu early this afternoon. Overnight in the charming,historic village of Montagu,
Day 2 Thursday Montagu to Oudtshoorn
After breakfast depart for Oudtshoorn, travelling via Barrydale and Ladysmith - The Jewel of the Little Karoo. Arrive at an ostrich farm in time for lunch and a guided tour. Afterwards continue to the vast limestone caverns known as the Cango Caves, (also one of the world's natural wonders) for a tour. Spend the night in Oudtshoorn. [Breakfast & Lunch]
Day 3 Friday Oudtshoorn to Knysna
This morning depart Oudtshoorn and travel over the spectacular Outeniqua Pass to George, and then on through Wilderness and Sedgefield to Knysna. Arrive in time to board a ferry to the Featherbed Nature Reserve, situated across the lagoon. Enjoy a 4x4 trailer ride to the top of the Western Head and walk back to the restaurant and dock through the Milkwood trees. After lunch at the restaurant, return to Knysna by ferry. Spend the rest of the afternoon at leisure in this quaint town. Overnight in a nearby hotel. [Breakfast & Lunch]
Day 4 Saturday Knysna
After breakfast depart on a day of sightseeing with a drive through Nature's Valley and the Tsitsikamma Forests. Enjoy a stop at the Bloukrans River bridge to watch the jumpers at the second highest bungy jump in the world. Travel through Plettenberg Bay (known as Millionaires Playground) to return to Knysna for a second night. [Breakfast]
Day 5 Sunday Knysna to Hermanus
Leaving Knysna travel along the N2 highway past George, Mossel Bay and through Riversdale to Swellendam, the third oldest magisterial settlement in South Africa. Enjoy lunch before proceeding to Hermanus for the night. Hermanus is known as the world's best shore based whale watching site during the season of August to November each year. Overnight in Hermanus. [Breakfast & Lunch]
Day 6 Monday Hermanus to Cape Town
Spend a leisurely morning enjoying the sights of Hermanus, then depart and travel along the coastal road to Somerset West. Continue to Cape Town where the tour ends on arrival late this afternoon. [Breakfast]
