15 Days - Cultural West Africa Tour

In Togo we will visit the Voodoo/Juju market at Akodessewa in Lome. The market is full of mysterious parts of animals from antelope to zebra and people buy regularly for ritual purposes. A lot of unexplainable things happen on this market.

In Benin, apart from Cotonou, we will also visit Abomey the former capital of Dahomey. Once in Abomey, we will visit the restored Palace and its excellent museum.
Ganvie, the Lake City - “le village des pecheurs”, is on our program for the day. At So-Ave we will take a boat to visit some of the picturesque islands in the catchments

TOUR ITINERARI

1st day - Monday
Arrival of guest at the Kotoka International Airport.
Transfer to the hotel.
First briefing.
Hotel for the night: 5 start Accra.

2nd day - Tuesday
Round trip - Accra city tour, driving through Makola market, Korle bu, James Town, Trade Fair site, the Art Centre and then stopping at Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum etc.
Start trip to Elmina, stopping en route at Abandzi, on the hill top, to see what is left of Fort Amsterdam and to visit the fishermen in the village.
Hotel for the night: 3 star Elmina.

3rd day - Wednesday
Excursion to the Kakum Nature Park.
One hour guided walk through the Kakum Nature Park plus Canopy Walkway.
Lunch at Hans Cottage hotel where one can view the crocodiles, birds and monkeys in the background.
Start trip to Cape Coast for a conducted tour through the Cape Coast Castle.
Continuation trip to Elmina for a conducted tour through the Elmina Castle.

4th day -Thursday
Start trip to Busua beach.
Leisure at the Beach.
Hotel for the night: 3 star Busua.

5th day - Friday
Start trip to Dixcove.
Visit of Fort Metal Cross and the fishing village at Dixcove.
Leisure at the beach.
Hotel for the night: 3 star Busua.

6th day - Saturday
Start trip to Kumasi.
Lunch at Obuasi.
Short city tour of Kumasi; stopping at the Manhyia Palace; Art Centre and the market.
Hotel for the night: 3 star Kumasi.

7th day - Sunday
Excursion to craft villages: Pankrono, Ahwiaa, Ntonso and Bonwire.
Start trip to Adanwomase Kente village.
Arrival in Adanwomase.
Cultural afternoon and a welcome by the Kente chief with traditional music and dance.
Demonstration of Kente weaving, traditional cooking and visiting of a peasant farm.
Tapping of palm wine.
Hotel for the night: 3 star Kumasi.

8th day - Monday
Start trip to Mole National Park.
Guided game walk through the park.
Hotel for the night: 2 star Mole.

9th day - Tuesday
Guided early morning game walk through the park
Leisure at the Park.
Hotel for the night: 2 star Mole.

10th day - Wednesday
Start trip to Kumasi.
Stopover at Larabanga to visit the Mosque and the stone.
Hotel for the night: 3 star Kumasi.

11th day - Thursday
Start trip to Lome, Togo.
Arrival at the border to proceed crossing.
Hotel for the night: 3 star Lome, Togo.

12th day - Friday
Start trip to Cotonou, in Benin, passing through to Ganvie to visit the Lake City where we will have our lunch and spend the rest of the day. We will get back to Cotonou in the evening.

13th day - Saturday
Start trip to Ada but first visiting Abomey.
Checking in at the Manet Paradise in the evening.
Hotel for the night: 3 star. Ada Foah.

14th day - Sunday
Start Boat trip on the Volta river, stopping at some of the villages along the Volta river.
(Crocodile birds Island, Local sugar cane drink brewery etc.)
Leisure at the Beach.
Hotel for the night: 3 star. Ada Foah.

15th day - Monday
Start trip to Accra.
Last shopping in the City.
